Rome Day 3

Their final day in Rome began at the Roman Forum, with the students spending the day touring the ancient city. For the grand finale of the tour, the Colosseum. This trip was by far a favorite for many of the students and many plan to return in the future.

On the last day of the trip to Rome, the tour began at the Roman Forum, one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world. The Forum includes temples, basilicas, and other public buildings. It was the site of important government buildings, public speeches, criminal trials, gladiatorial matches, and commercial affairs. The Forum was one of the highlights of the trip as the students were fascinated by the ancient architecture and its amazing preservations.

As one of the most iconic landmarks in Rome, it was a wonderful way to end the trip to Rome. The Colosseum was built as a venue for public spectacles, such as gladiatorial contests, animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on classical mythology. The Colosseum is the largest ancient amphitheater ever built and is a part of the larger archeological area that includes the Forum. The students toured through the Colosseum, getting to enter onto the main level where the gladiators would stand. There were many models and drawings that depict the construction of the Colosseum and the students spent some time admiring the great architectural monument.
