Dear Friends;
Today I start with a huge "THANK YOU". I am just filled with gratitude.
This is the reason I could not wait another day to write to you again…
:)
Your response after my previous email was absolutely amazing. We
received over $2,000 in donation within 12 hours. I was just thrilled. I
still am. Thank you very much for this experience.
OK, we did not get the $500 weekly bonus. But we have another two weeks
of the Give Detroit Challenge. Two more weekly bonuses, and the race to
the top. And the truth is, we have already won our own race. We are
stronger as a group than I ever imagined before. We are able to unite
around an idea, and make it happen. Whatever prize we are chasing, is a
frosting on the cake.
When we started working on the Volterra project in 2009, we had a great
vision and not much more. Bruno Leon, the first Dean of the UofD School
of Architecture used to encourage me in Italian: AVANTI, SEMPRE AVANTI!
Forward, always forward! With the help of so many of you, we made
miracles. I believe in miracles. The miracles made by people, for
people. Many people made miracles for us. Thank you all, then and now.
I wanted to share with you the wonderful statistics of our Give Detroit
Challenge: over 150 patrons, almost $11,000 in donations. We set the
original goal for us at the Challenge at $12,000. We are at 90% of it
with two more weeks to go (basically, in 66% of time). I believe we can
reach the goal and much more!
Yes, there are just two more weeks ahead of us. 14 days. We will start
the countdown soon. We are in a good position to reach for one of the
main prizes - if we just realize completely our strength of people
united around a vision. Join us in the effort to bring people together,
make your contribution to the Artist in [Volterra] Residence program
through the Give Detroit Challenge:

Just a reminder, all your donations are completely tax-deductible, the
Volterra-Detroit Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit
organization. Also, if you made a contribution you should have received
a personal email from me. It looks like in a few cases those emails were
relegated to the Spam or Junk folder. So if you have not received my
personal "thank you" please take a quick look there :)
I am thrilled to include the list of our patrons here. It is longer
every single time I post it. Thank you all so much for your patronage:
