Dear Friend:

I am thrilled to report back to you about the status of the Give Detroit
Challenge we are participating in. Within just three days, since my
previous email, the number of our patrons and the total amount of
donations have more than doubled. YOU ARE MAKING IT HAPPEN! THANK YOU SO
MUCH!

The Give Detroit Challenge is on until November 12. If we place at the
top of 50 foundations in the challenge, we win significant funds for our
activity. We are now number eight, up four positions from three days ago
- thanks to many of you. To be among the best three, and win one of the
cash prizes, is within our reach - but we need EVERYBODY’S help. You
know that our ultimate goal is to create a new program for the Detroit
artists in Volterra: Artist in Residence. Can you help us? Can you too
donate $10 to our project?

Every time I see the next name of a friend on the donor list it makes
me, and all of us at the Volterra-Detroit Foundation, stronger. You
inspire us. We are proud to have such friends. And we want each of you
to be proud of what we accomplish together.

We also plan a special online event this weekend, as part of the Give
Detroit Challenge. We will feature the film of the virtual
reconstruction of the Roman Theater in Volterra. It has never been shown
online before, and will be available for two days only, from Saturday
October 17 8:00 am (US Eastern Time) until Sunday, October 18 11:00 pm.
The work shown in the film is a result of over a year of historical
research and computer modeling. It was presented at the exhibition in
Volterra in June 2009. Now you will have a chance to view it. Don't miss
it!

Once again, great thanks to all of you who support us in the Give
Detroit Challenge:
